We’ve always appreciated the extra mile Air New Zealand goes for accessibility. Now, they’re getting the recognition they deserve, being named Airline Of The Year 2023 by safety and product rating website AirlineRatings.com.
Air New Zealand has been commended for its SkyNest economy beds, operational safety, environmental leadership, and exceptional staff.
Five judges reviewed Air New Zealand and other major airlines against eleven key criteria, including: fleet age, passenger reviews, profitability, investment rating, product offerings, and staff relations. Air New Zealand beat out previous winners, including Qatar Airways and Qantas, to take the top spot.

Hamilton-based Travel Without Limits contributor, Tegan Morris, has said she always travels with Air New Zealand. She’s found they offer her the best options for travelling with the supports she needs, including a row of seating and transit for support staff.
Travel Without Limits co-founder, Julie Jones, also recently tried Air New Zealand for a family holiday.
“After three flights with Air New Zealand, we can’t rate them highly enough,” Julie says. “It was an absolute pleasure flying with them and their staff are outstanding. We particularly appreciated the fact the staff were happy to go with our suggestions. They were accommodating as to what would be the most comfortable for us and despite it being the opposite to ‘normal’, they ran with it.”
