Lake Macquarie is the largest coastal saltwater lake in the Southern Hemisphere, and boasts pristine beaches and forests.

The area has a number of accessible swimming spots, including beaches with matting, beach wheelchairs, and accessible bathroom facilities. There is a SandCruiser beach wheelchair available for free during patrolled hours at Blacksmiths Beach.

Grannies Pool is one of the most popular spots, especially after recent upgrades including a shared pathway, accessible concrete viewing area, and a 50m accessible path. It’s just a short distance from Blacksmiths Beachside Holiday Park.

Lake Macquarie also has an extensive network of shared trails throughout the city, the perfect way to enjoy the fresh air and local scenery.

Make use of the Park’s facilities with a friendly game of tennis, or take a dip in the solar-heated swimming pool. The swimming pool precinct is accessible by ramp, and located close to the recreation room. A hoist and aquatic wheelchair is available at the pool for guests’ use.
