Say Cheese, Sydney!

Foodie travellers will be flocking to Sydney this winter, with cheese-y events on the calendar.

Whether it’s melted on a sandwich, grated over a dish, or simply cut into chunks on crackers, we love cheese! These upcoming events in Sydney will offer a unique opportunity to gather with other cheese-lovers and sample some savoury delights from around the world.

Bon Fromage Festival

Billed as ‘the ultimate European cheese experience’, the Bon Fromage Festival will let you fulfil all your French cheese dreams. Take your pick of the free samples at the 30 metre-long cheese table, walk or wheel through the Stinky Market stalls, learn how to make the most of cheesy cuisine at one of the masterclasses, and dance off the extra calories with live entertainment from Christelle N., Anna Waving Collective, and DJ Frans.

The Bon Fromage Festival coincides with Vivid Sydney this year, and the Overseas Passenger Terminal location offers stunning views of the illuminated Opera House. It’s the perfect backdrop for Instagram-worthy photos with the fantastic array of culinary delights available.

The venue is accessible for wheelchair users and people with limited mobility. Accessible bathrooms are available, and there are two accessible lifts to transport visitors between floors.

When: 31 May – 2 June
Where: Sydney Overseas Passenger Terminal (Cargo Hall), 130 Argyle Street, The Rocks
Tickets: Free! Find out more on the Bon Fromage Festival website.

The Raclette Igloo Experience

Melt into a winter wonderland of French cheese and culture at The Raclette Igloo Experience. It’s coming to Sydney this winter after sell-out events in Canberra, Melbourne, and Adelaide that welcomed over 45,000 visitors.

In a private igloo, you can feast on Raclette cheese, sip on hot mulled wine (with an alcohol-free option available for those who’d prefer), and top off the treat with fire-roasted marshmallows. Participate in the French tradition of sharing, laughter, and indulgence, savouring delicious flavours and marvellous company.

The rooftop venue is accessible by lift, with ample accessible parking available at Broadway Shopping Centre. The igloos are constructed with step-free lipless entry, and your specific access needs can be noted when booking.

When: 29 June – 28 July
Where: Broadway Shopping Center Rooftop, Sydney
Tickets: $99pp (2-8 people per igloo) – available via the Raclette Igloo Experience website.
