Skye Suites Parramatta is located just 30 minutes from the Sydney CBD, and a 10-minute drive from the medical precinct of Westmead (including Westmead Children’s Hospital). The hotel’s location and facilities lend themselves to both shorter and longer stays, with everything guests need to make it a home away from home.
Everything is within easy walking/wheeling distance, so why not leave the car behind? Enjoy the carefree ease of having entertainment, dining, and shopping right on your doorstep.
The all-suite hotel is in a prime position for exploring Parramatta’s many accessible attractions, including the Riverside Theatre, historic Parramatta Park, and the dining delights of Eat Street. The Parramatta River Walk offers kilometres of level pathways to explore the riverfront and nearby suburbs. Westfield Parramatta is every fashionista’s dream, and when you tire of shopping you can recline in a Gold Class cinema seat (or a regular one – but why not indulge?) at Event Cinemas.
An insight into Parramatta’s convict history is located right next door to Skye Suites Parramatta, at the Phillip Ruddock Heritage Centre. The beautifully preserved site includes the footings of a convict hut dated from the 1790s-1800s. Crockery, toys, and other historical items are on display, and this accessible attraction is free to see.
While Parramatta itself has plenty to keep you busy for the weekend, Sydney’s major attractions are also within easy reach. The Parramatta River Ferry (the RiverCat) is accessible, and offers a scenic ride into Darling Harbour or Circular Quay.
For concert goers and sports fans, the accessible accommodation at Skye Suites is convenient to CommBank Stadium, and only a short train ride away from Accor Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park. Make sure you book early for special events!
Facilities at Skye Suites Parramatta
If you’re looking for accommodation where you can relax and enjoy without having to leave the premises, there’s plenty for you at Skye Suites Parramatta.
On a fine day, the outdoor pool is bathed in sunshine and the lounge chairs beckon. A pool hoist and sling are available for guests who need a helping hand into the pool, and a water wheelchair is provided for accessing the area. A unisex accessible bathroom is located close to the pool.
We highly recommend taking the lift to Nick & Nora’s rooftop bar just before sunset to indulge in a drink or two. The bar is accessible, with a unisex accessible bathroom. If you get peckish while you’re there, stay on to enjoy the ultimate indulgence: the ‘Feed Me’ degustation menu. Everything is delicious and beautifully presented; for us, the stand-outs were the lobster tacos and the mushroom and pea arancini.
If you’re feeling any guilt about the evening’s indulgence (not that you should!), the next morning you can pop down to the on-site gym. (Personally, a sleep-in was more appealing.)
Breakfast can be included in your stay, available at The Shed Cafe next door. Fresh juices and eggs will get you energised for a day of exploration.
